Common types of plastic bearing materials
 
1. Acetal bearing material: This material has the lowest price, its dynamic and static friction coefficients on steel are extremely low, and its strength and rigidity are high. It is often used to manufacture integrated bearing housings with outer rings under light loads;
 
2. Nylon bearing material: It is a low-cost material with low friction factor and strong self-lubricity. Fillers such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide and polytetrafluoroethylene are often added to increase self-lubricity, strength and stiffness. The temperature can reach 120 ℃;
 
3. PTFE bearing material: The friction factor is the smallest, and when the load increases, the friction factor decreases accordingly. Glass fiber, graphite, bronze powder are often added to improve various performance indicators, and the working temperature is relatively high;
 
4. Phenolic bearing material: high strength, high temperature resistance, but large friction factor and fast wear. Using polytetrafluoroethylene resin as filler can reduce friction factors and increase life.

 
At present, foreign plastic bearings are developing very fast and have a wide range of applications. However, plastic bearings are still in their infancy in China, and are lacking in raw material production and product applications. According to incomplete statistics from relevant parties, in the past five years, domestic demand for the five major engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, polyformaldehyde, polyamide, thermoplastic resin, and modified polyphenylene ether and the market demand has maintained a rapid growth of 30.3%. Engineering plastics for plastic bearings are mainly imported.
